Our Story

Faustin & Lauren Malu

Faustin is from Nairobi, Kenya. Lauren is from Fort Worth, Texas. He’s passionate about shoes, hats, french fries, and movies. She is passionate about baking, homeschooling, being outdoors, and coffee. We are opposites in many ways, but truly the perfect partners.

Our shared passion for making Jesus known around the world has fueled everything we’ve pursued — and this new endeavor is no different. We started Bridge of Blessing to set us up for a lifetime of ministry together around the globe.

Wherever God takes us, our goal is simple: to be a blessing that creates a bridge — connecting problems to real, lasting solutions.

Our story began in 2007 when we first met in Nairobi, Kenya, during a mission trip I took with my family. Faustin was already heavily involved in ministry, often skipping work just to jump on the next mission opportunity. It was my first time overseas, and the moment God gave me a calling to missions. I didn’t yet know that calling would be fulfilled alongside Faustin — but God is definitely in the business of surprises.

Faustin moved to Texas in 2014. While his love for me played a big role, he also felt a clear calling to serve as a missionary in America. We married in 2015 and spent 10 wonderful years in Austin, Texas, serving as kids pastors, youth pastors, and missions pastors, partnering with missionaries across the globe.

Now, with our four amazing kids — Zuri, Imani, Jelani, and Baraka — we are stepping into the next assignment. We are thrilled to continue ministry in Kilgoris, Kenya, alongside SOS Church Kilgoris!

In May 2024, we took a leap of faith and headed to Kilgoris. Though Kenya is home for Faustin, it was a brand-new adventure for our family. What began as a five-month commitment quickly turned into eight months — our first sign that God had something more for us here. Kilgoris became a second home, and God began to unfold a bigger vision in our hearts.

During our time with SOS Church Kilgoris, we witnessed signs, wonders, and miracles week after week. The community is hungry for Jesus, and the church is thriving! We believe the greatest need every person has is a relationship with their Creator — but they also need resources, jobs, and safe living conditions. God put it on our hearts to help meet these needs.

We are moving our family to Kilgoris, serving with the local church and pouring our hearts into the city so that Jesus will be made known! Through Bridge of Blessing, we are launching three transformational projects aimed at creating financial stability, restoring dignity, and bringing hope to the people of Kilgoris.

Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!” Philippians 2:6-7
